Spring cleaning for your life

April 18,2024
As we enter spring and leave winter behind, this is typically the time of year when people take time to deep clean their homes. They organize, declutter, and eliminate items they no longer want or need.

I would like to suggest that we take the spring as an opportunity to spring-clean our lives. What do I mean by this? Take time to work on the following five areas that I am going to talk about in this article today.

Goal Setting Vs Resolutions

January 31, 2024

I admit that in the past, as December 31 was approaching, I would sit there and reflect on the year that had been and wonder what was in store for the year ahead. Part of this would be coming up with a resolution to work on when the new year begins. Hands up if you have done the same thing. Perhaps you are still doing it now. I want to talk about why goal-setting is better than making a resolution.

Saying “no” during the holidays

December 14, 2023

I can’t believe we are in December already; another year is almost complete, and the holiday season is underway. The Christmas season can be so busy and stressful trying to get everything ready and visiting with family and friends.  Some people love the hustle and bustle of Christmas. Others burn themselves out trying to do it all, to be in the festive spirit and not wanting to disappoint people by saying “no”. I have always loved all aspects of Christmas. However, over the years, I have made shifts and changes in my thinking to try and alleviate the stress. Stress can happen around Christmas and the expectations we put on ourselves or feel others are putting on us, even if that is not the intention. I will share my most significant shift and encourage readers to do this.

Boundaries

Boundaries, not walls, why they are crucial to relationships

Oct /2023

By Jason PInkerton

This month, I want to explore boundaries. I did a high-level post on this a couple of months ago, but I want to expand on the ideas. I am blogging about it and will do a more in-depth social media post series, drilling down on each boundary and providing more details. The boundaries I will explore are Physical, Time, Emotional, Intellectual, and the final one is Material. Part of my motivation for this article is that I have had personal experience with pushing and challenging boundaries, so this is a topic and I bring personal experience.

Insecurities: Where they come from, and how to overcome them

Insecurity is something we all face at one time or another. It’s not something anyone talks much about, but I am going to do just that.
